A Pitcher Full

fruit-fruits-fruity-40570.jpgRomans 15:13 “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost “.

You can not pour water from an empty pitcher. You must keep filling it up if you want to continue pouring out.

As a mom we are constantly pouring out. So we must be diligent about filling back up. We must be sure we have something to give. We can not keeping pouring out and not filling our pitcher back up. If you neglect to fill up your pitcher you will eventually run out and have nothing else to give.

We must take time to fill back up. We must take time to be alone with God so He can fill us back up.

I know when I do not have time alone with God I run out of patience, I get to the end of my rope, I feel drained, and I know it is because I am empty. I need God to fill my pitcher everyday. I need Him to fill me with His peace, His joy, His power, His hope, and His grace. I need the Holy Spirit to work through me so I can be the wife, mother, and Christian I need to be.

So take time to take care of yourself. Take time to fill your pitcher. You need a full pitcher before you can give of yourself to others.

Because of Me:

Sometimes I look around and see all the evil of the world and think to myself why are people so evil.  I can easily let pride creep in and build up in my heart and mind.

Romans 3:23  ” For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

John 3:16 ” For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

I am a sinner! I have sinned against God! I am not deserving of Salvation! I am no better than any other human. When I stop and reflect on my own life, my own sin, my own weaknesses, and stop comparing myself to others I see the true love of the cross.

Jesus took my stripes, my nails, my thorns, my punishment for my sins. Because of me he died. I put him on the cross. For me he laid his life down, for me he paid the ultimate price. That is a love that is beyond our comprehension.

So as you look around think about where would you be without Christ. Think about what Jesus saved you from, the mercy and grace he bestowed upon you. It is a humbling thought, there is no room for pride. Because of me he was Sacrificed! Because of me…….

Balancing Act

Proverbs 11:1  “A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.”

Sometimes as a mom we tend to take on more than we can handle. Life can feel more like a juggling act in a circus. Sometimes we try to do to much. We try to cram to much into our schedule. We think we got it all under control, until it all comes tumbling down.

When people ask, “how do you do it all?”  I let them know that I don’t. I am just one person.  I can not do it all!  I have only 24 hours in a day just like everyone else.  I do not have some secret formula that gives me super powers to accomplish the impossible.

We all need balance. Without balance you would constantly fall over. That is why it is so important to not have a false balance. We constantly need to be evaluating what occupies our time, what is not needed in our daily schedules, and what needs to go. We really need to pray and ask God to show us the right balance he has for us.

Juggling is not balancing. I do not like feeling like I am juggling. When I feel this way it is usually because I tried to take on to much. I gave myself a false balance, and find that I did not have any balance at all.  That is when I loose patience and find everything in a mess.

A big mistake we make as moms is comparing ourselves to other moms.  We all have different strengths and different weaknesses.  The perfect balance God has for me probably will not be the right balance for you. We need to stop comparing and just start praying. We need to seek God and ask him to give us the wisdom, grace, and balance we need for today.
